Aha! So, arigato gozaimas ends in -mas. We always put our hands in a prayer position, then bent forward (we started out in seiza – sitting on our lower legs) making a triangle on the ground then touched our forehead to it and said “arigato gozaimas”. I am not sure of the significance of the triangle and placing the forehead into it.
Thanks for the tips on pointing with palm up, touching the nose to refer to yourself, and a slight inclination forward with half a “prayer” in the right hand.
Japan looks beautiful. Post some more pictures of Japan – both city and the countryside!
Domo arigato,
Charles
Ok… I’ll compromise… I’ll shave one side of my face!!!
Thanks Tatev!
enjoyed both videos a lot. You really are very funny, even when you’re not trying to be!!! oh, and don’t shave if you dont have to. makes you look older/wiser. lol and i know you are exactly as young as I am.
Duncan…. Sigh.
I will shave tomorrow.
Ruairi… thanks buddy!! Delighted you’re enjoying it.
Owen is great = flower is blossom = Ruairi is laughing his ass off
Congrats on the OFI Pad…. it definately has attitude!
Is it really that difficult to find a razor in Japan?
I swear Owen there must be something in the water in Japan “cause you is well funny”
enjoy the rest of your trip!
Thanks Lorna… might go back and actually teach some relevant stuff next time. thanks for the outside idea though. it was fun!
I’m sure 6 and 8 year olds aren’t your target audience but my 2 are loving the bits about the body language. Fab scenery btw – how about some Japanese food for the next one – eating your sushi with chopsticks
