This episode is on the same topic of a blog post I wrote a few years ago where I explore the difference between niceness and kindness!
https://blog.owenfitzpatrick.com/difference-nice-kind/
Nice is defined as “pleasing; agreeable; delightful”
Being nice is when you are polite to people and treat people well.
Impression… make them feel good. Temporary sometimes permanent
Too nice… too easy. No backbone. Too selfless. Not strong.
Kind is defined as “having, showing, or proceeding from benevolence.”
When you care about people and show you care.
Cruel treat people badly
Kind treat people with care
Cruel to be kind often to give them the message
Kind to be cruel Not really..
Sometimes you can be kind to someone even though you aren’t nice to them and you can certainly be nice to someone but also be unkind.
CHARACTER VS PERSONALITY
Easy to be nice. Polite… smile.
Being kind can’t be learned in a training… can only be about caring
Sometimes niceness is about ends result. Kindness is the end result.
Customer service need more kindness (both important)
